Once in a while I fly in luxury but I never broke the bank whenever I needed to fly one. My recent flight from Manila to Singapore was stylish with Singapore Airlines Business class in their Boeing 777 300-ER aircraft . This a new business class seat that features a full-flat bed handcrafted from Scottish leather and diamond-stitched. Its 28-inch seat transforms into a 78-inch bed when you’re ready to turn in. Fully-flat with a cushioned headboard for greater sleeping comfort, complete with linen, duvet and pillows.
The perks of having a business class ticket starts on the ground where a priority check-in counter is waiting for you and an access to a pre-departure lounge. Since I’m flying to Manila from Changi Airport Terminal 2, I have access to a smaller but less crowded SilverKris Lounge. Aside from delicious local dishes, snacks and beverages there are shower facilities in the lounge complete with basic toiletries plus plenty of lounging spaces to kill time. I took a quick shower and enjoyed the food while waiting for our boarding time. I never let a glass of champagne pass even it’s early in the morning.
Holding a business class boarding pass gives you access to priority boarding too – you can board the aircraft first while the rest of the passengers are waiting for their boarding call. This is gives the crew an ample time to serve you well which starts with a welcome drink and fresh towels to freshen up yourself for a comfortable flight.
I selected the best business class seat in the Cabin, seat 11K which is a bulkhead seat with much more legroom. It looks like a First Class seat. Singapore Airlines Business Class do not offer amenities like other major carriers for the reason that they believe that it’s a waste and doesn’t give value to passengers. However, the basic amenities you would need are available in the lavatory.
But since it’s their 70 years anniversary, there’s a gift to every business class passenger.
There’s plenty of storage available and the controls to the entertainment screen and seat are easy to figure out. Of course, a noise canceling headset is available. How I wish this was a long haul flight. Immediately after takeoff, the breakfast service have started. Starting with seasonal fruits, a fruit juice and a cup of tea. The cabin crew came back with a heavenly basket of bread and I just took a piece of Croissant. Shortly, I had a bowl of muesli.
Then my main course, Classic Lobster Thermidor which I ordered using Singapore Airlines’ book the cook service. Singapore Airlines Business Class, First Class and Suite class passengers have an option to pre-book their meals using this service which they also extended recently to Premium economy passengers. I paired my main course with a riesling and later on, a glass of champagne.
I still have some space for dessert.
After dinner service, I decided to sleep on the rest of the flight, I still have 1.5 hours anyway. The crew help me convert my seat into a full-flat bed.
But before that, a glass of Singapore Sling is a must. I always have this whenever I fly with Singapore Airlines.
Though it’s really good, I can barely finish it since I already had 2 glasses of champagne and a glass of wine early in the morning.
We arrived in Manila just in time and the perks doesn’t end when stepping out of the aircraft. Singapore Airlines business class passenger have priority tags on their luggages which means less waiting time for us.
Singapore Airlines is always on top of their service and its always pleasant experience every time I fly with them. But the best part of this experience is paying only 34 Singapore Dollars (around 1,200 Philippine Pesos) for the New Singapore Airlines Business Class seat. Being an avid collector of mileage points, I get to fly in style without breaking the bank.

This looks like an awesome way to fly! Singapore Airlines is one of my favorite airlines. Their staff is amazing and friendly, makes for a much better trip!
Whoa! Your food actually looks super tasty! I’ve only flown First class once and your experience seems even more luxurious! And what a deal!
I love Singapore Airlines and only fly this if I ever go to SE Asia. The service
Is always good and the food looks great. I never pass on champagne either!
This looked like it was a really awesome experience! I’ve never flown anything other than coach, so it’s fun for me to see amenities like the toothbrush and razor. Plus, the food looks a LOT better than anything I’ve ever eaten on a plane!
That looks so enjoyable! I swear flying business class ruins you forever… Now when I am in economy I feel like it is even worse than before. Haha. I have never used mileage points to fly business class because I always feel like it’s such a waste of points (vs. using it for more flights in economy). You think it’s worth it, it sounds like?
If you look at the price tag then I think it’s worth it. The experience is also valuable. But if you want more flights, economy is the way to go! 🙂
The way you wrote it, I almost felt the virtual pamper that you have had in the plane. Getting access to proper shower facility in an airport lounge sounds divine to say the least. The food you had, particularly the lobster is enough to convince me this is the best business class food in an aircraft!I almost felt jealous while reading you got to do all this at just 34 singapore dollars!
The business class has a charm of its own. I have flown business class few times. What a co incidence. I was in the business class of Singapore airlines just a week ago. I was flying to Australia from India. Had it not been for the reclining seats, I would have been exhausted. The food, service everything was perfect. Would love to fly with Singapore airlines again. They even remembered my name.
Wow! Those seats look absolutely amazing. Best airplane food I’ve ever seen, too! I’m not much a luxury person when it comes to planes, but it would be so much fun to experience that level of service once or twice.
Wow. Now that is Business class treatment! haha I’ve never flown on Singapore Airlines – but looks like the royal treatment 100%! Nice comfort and good food during a long flight is everything I’m looking for 🙂 – Mariella
Food looks amazing! I’ve always wanted to fly business class but usually look for the cheapest flight I can. You’ve inspired me 🙂
It must be super nice to fly business class. I only flew economy once on Singapore Airlines and was impressed by the overall service and cleanliness. I would love to be able to afford seats where I can sleep for an entire flight. The only time I’ve got lucky like that is getting three whole seats to myself in coach!
What all the airlines do for the sake of competition!
I love their approach to making the passenger feel like a king.
I flew Business Class of Singapore airlines just 2 weeks ago. I travelled from India to Australia though. I loved their food. It was the only time I loved food aboard a flight. And their service was beyond my expectations. It was an amazing experience. Your blog make me want to board a Singapore Airlines flight again.
This business class in Singapore Airlines is truly a mixture of luxury and pleasure. There is too much leg space and it provides comfort for long distance flights. Food varieties also look tempting. I have done Emirates business class traveling but not Singapore but now after reading this, will try it.
1200 pesos was an amazing deal! I still haven’t flown business class so I’d definitely grab this opportunity. I know about the perks but I didn’t know about the priority baggage at the end. That really helps!
That sounds like a truly relaxing trip! I’ve never flown Singapore Airlines yet but I’ve only heard great reviews. I’d love to fly it someday especially since the seat/bed looks so comfy and the food looks amazing.
I’ve never flown with Singapore Airlines till now. But I heard a lot of good things about their Business Class . The services seems great and I wish to fly soon with them. The food looks absolutely delicious.
